After terracotta, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has included readymade garments in Gorakhpur’s One District One Product (ODOP) scheme. The trend of entrepreneurs during this sector has increased rapidly after being included in ODOP at the top of October 2020. to offer an extra boost to the present sector, an exhibition of readymade garments was also organized within the townhall ground within the month of March.

CM Yogi himself had participated during this exhibition and encouraged the entrepreneurs. On the initiative of CM Yogi, the project of flatted factory in Gida is functional to supply strategically space to the readymade garment entrepreneurs.

After meeting CM Yogi, who visited Gorakhpur on Wednesday, Vishnu Prasad Ajit Sariya, President of Chamber of Industries and former President SK Aggarwal told him that a lot of entrepreneurs from outside the district also are expressing their desire to line up units within the readymade garment sector here.

Chamber officials said that this has been possible thanks to the inclusion of readymade garment sector in ODOP. Entrepreneurs from outside are constantly contacting the chamber.

On the demand of the Chamber of Readymade Garment Flatted Factory within the industrial area located in Gorakhnath area just like the flatted factory in Gida, the Chief Minister said that it might even be considered if the amount of entrepreneurs increases. The Chief Minister also gave a positive assurance on the demand to ask entrepreneurs to the Gida committee meeting .

Preparation to supply employment to 50 thousand through MSME

According to an estimate, about 15,000 people have gotten employment within the readymade sector in Gorakhpur with a capital of Rs 350 crore. the govt believes that it’s impossible to urge such a lot employment in other sectors on such a coffee investment. in sight of this, the govt is preparing to supply employment to 50,000 people through the normal enterprise of readymade garments through MSMEs.

Grant of up to twenty lakhs in ODOP for fixing readymade garment units

Under ODOP, the govt is giving a grant of up to Rs 20 lakh for fixing readymade garment units. On applying for fixing a unit, one can get a loan from any nationalized or other scheduled bank. the quantity of margin money is formed available as a grant by the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Export Promotion (MSME) relative to the loan.

For units with a complete project cost of up to Rs.25 lakh, there’s a provision to pay 25% of the entire project cost or maximum Rs.6.25 lakh, whichever is a smaller amount , as margin money.

For units with a project cost of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh, an amount of Rs 6.25 lakh or 20 percent of the project cost, whichever is higher, are going to be given as margin money. 10 lakh or 10 percent of the project cost, whichever is higher, are going to be available as margin money for units with a project cost of Rs 50 lakh to 1.5 crore. For units with a complete project cost of quite 1.5 crore, 10 percent of the project cost or maximum of Rs 20 lakh, whichever is a smaller amount , are going to be given as margin money.
